Who is Amanda? What is "be by barnes"?
Hi! I'm Amanda!
I grew up a relatively healthy kid. I was involved in organized sports and other physical activities. Then I went to college... It didn't take me much longer than my freshman year to recognize that being on my own with a college meal plan that didn't have the healthiest options lead me into a bad place. Things needed to change. Over my summer break, I got back in shape by walking my neighborhood and doing bodyweight workouts at home. When I returned to college after break, I had a renewed sense of self which included teaching free aerobics classes in my dorm lobby. This began my journey to become a trainer and coach.
Over the years, I've acquired professional certifications in the specific areas of orthopedic exercise, pregnancy and postnatal exercise, functional female training, golf-specific exercise, cancer exercise, Parkinson's exercise and fitness for seniors.
As I have aged, my body has changed. Because of this, I have spent a lot of time learning about how the aging process changes the way women (specifically) need to care for our bodies. Nutrition, exercise, rest, recovery... all need a whole new game plan.
What is "be by barnes"?
I chose the name "be by barnes" so that be would apply to whatever goals my clients had in mind: to be stronger... to be more fit.. to be healthier... to be the best you.

How long does each consultation take?
A complimentary consultation takes about 15 minutes. You will fill out a questionnaire before we meet. Consultations are done via Zoom, FaceTime, phone or in person.
Do you have monthly subscriptions?
Yes. You can sign up for a few different monthly options, as well as customized training and coaching.
